Rough Night

Preston got pukey again last night, so we made a last minute run to the pharmacy to get some Emetrol (at the pharmacist's recommendation) and a generic form of Dramamine. Brock had been trying to squeeze one last night of basketball in, but he had to come home early in order to make that pharmacy run, as I was already in my pajamas and finishing up some laundry.

Right as the dreadfully disgusting Illinois basketball game was ending Brock discovered that one of our cats had gotten sick on our bed, straight through two comforters and our sheet set to the mattress. So much for sleeping in our own bed the night before we left! I ended up in Preston's room with him, while Brock slept downstairs on the couch.

Around 4:15 a.m., I woke up and could not go back to sleep -- mind rushing with last minute details, Preston's night light too bright for me, you name it. I finally gave up about 30 minutes later. We are now scrambling to finish laundering all of our bedding so that hopefully we can come home to a made bed.

We are hoping to catch some sleep during the flight from Chicago to Hong Kong!

  1. Oh, boy...we brought the last load of laundry up unfolded. Brock just went to fold it and discovered that a cat had peed all over a t-shirt of Preston's.

It seems that our cats are expressing their displeasure with our pending departure.

  2. that would be what the cats are doing. We always thought we could sleep on the flights, Boyd did, and all I could do was catnap. I am so happy for your family and Shaling will be so excited to meet you!
